Scope of Coverage:
Coverage  shall commence  12 o’clock in the  morning of the day of scheduled trip and shall end on whichever of the following occurs first:

a. the expiry date as specified in the Policy;
b. for annual plans, the Insured’s return date to his/her normal place
of residence (unlimited number of trips per year, provided each trip
does not exceed ninety (90) consecutive days);
c.  for one-way itineraries, upon   Insured’s arrival at   place of
destination.


Definition of Benefits:

Accidental Death & Disablement
Indemnifies an insured’s beneficiary/ies up to the amount stipulated
in the policy due to accidental death and/or disablement within 180 days from the date of the accident.

Unprovoked Murder and Assault
Indemnifies the insured person due to Death or Disablement caused
by murder and assault or any attempt thereat provided such murder and assault shall not have been provoked by the Insured and provided such murder and assault shall not have been occasioned by or shall not have  happened due to war (whether declared or not), rebellion or insurrection. The liability of the Insurer resulting from said murder and assault shall be limited to the applicable principal sum under the policy up to a maximum amount indicated therein.
It is further declared and agreed  that there will be no recovery under this Policy if   MURDER AND ASSAULT or any attempt thereat should occur in any of the following places:- Marawi City, Sulu Archipelago, Maguindanao, Basilan and Jolo.

Medical Reimbursement
Indemnifies the Insured for all medical and surgical fees, hospital and emergency dental expenses incurred as a result of any accident and illness occurring wholly during the Period of Insurance up to the inner limits as specified below.

Provided such injury sustained shall not result directly or indirectly from:
1. The Insured  Person having  taken intoxicants or drugs or hallucinogens of any kind other than in accordance with the directions of and as prescribed by a qualified Medical practitioner
2. The Insured Person engaging in or practicing for or taking part in training peculiar to any of the following activities:


(a)  any sport as a professional.
(b)  Participation in any sports competition, amateur or professional
(c)  participation in any kind of speed contest.
(d)  any form of armed or unarmed combat or martial art.
(e)  any mountaineering or rock or cliff climbing or pot-holing.
(f)   any sub-aquatic activity necessitating the use of breathing apparatus.
(g)  aviation or air travel except as a fare paying passenger on a fully licensed passenger carrying aircraft flown by professional crew.
(h)  any other aerial activity  including parachuting,  gliding, hang-gliding.
(i)   steeple chasing,  hunting, diving, winter sports, water-skiing, skating, Rugby or Association football, ice-hockey or polo.


3.  The Insured Person engaging in manual work in connection with his/her profession, occupation or trade during the Period of Insurance.
4.  Pregnancy or childbirth or the Insured Person suffering from insanity,  venereal disease,  pre-existing physical or mental defect or infirmity or committing or attempting to commit suicide.
5.  Willful exposure to needless peril except in an attempt to save human life.
6.  Injury occasioned by or contributed  to by Acquired Immune eficiency Syndrome (AIDS) or AIDS Related Complex (ARC) howsoever this syndrome has been acquired or may be named.
7.  Medication and/or treatment which are at the time of departure is known to be required or to be continued outside your home.
8.  For the cost of any elective (non-emergency) treatment or surgery, including exploratory  tests, additional hospital costs which are not directly related to the illness or injury which necessitate your admittance into hospital.

Treatment and/or consultation for the same or related illness shall not entitle the insured person to a new benefit amount unless such treatment and/or consultation is separated by at least two (2) weeks, and such illness occurred during the travel period.

Burial Assistance
In the event that during the Period of Insurance, the Insured sustains accidental bodily injury resulting to death, the Insurer will pay for a fixed amount as a financial assistance up to the maximum limit stated in  the schedule. This benefit shall be in addition to any claim on Accidental Death and Disablement benefit.

Daily Hospital Cash Assistance
In the event that the Insured is admitted to the hospital or any medical
facility  due to accidental  bodily injury or sickness  sustained whilst travelling, the  Insurer will pay a fixed allowance  as specified in the schedule for every day of hospitalization up to a maximum of seven (7) days.

Specific Exclusion for Daily Hospital Cash Assistance:
Surgery  or medical  treatment which  in the reasonable opinion of the medical practitioner treating the Insured, can
be  reasonably  delayed until  the return to the  place of residence.

Trip Cancellation
The  Insurer  will pay  the Insured up to the limit specified in the Schedule, the forfeited and non-refundable portion of all travel costs invoiced to and paid by the insured in advance including travel agent’s cancellation fee should the trip be cancelled within 30 days before the date of commencement of the trip due to:
• Death, serious injury or serious illness of the Insured, his/her spouse,
children, parents, parents-in-law, sisters, brothers or grandparents;
•  Occurrence  or outbreak  of strike, riot,  civil commotion or  similar
occurrence.

Specific Exclusion Trip Cancellation:
The Insurer will not pay for any loss recoverable from any other sources including government programs, insurance schemes, airlines, hotels and travel agencies.

Trip Curtailment
The  Insurer  will pay  the Insured  up to the limit specified in the Schedule the pro-rata amount, if the  journey is cut short and the Insured has to return to the place of residence as a result of:
• The insured having sustained serious injury or illness or death;
• Serious  injury or serious illness if the Insured’s  spouse, children, parents, sisters, brothers, parents -in-law or grandparents.

Delayed Departure
When the departure of the means of public transport contracted by the Insured be delayed for more than six (6) consecutive hours from the departure time due to events that is uncontrollable by the Insured, including adverse weather condition, technical problems, mechanical breakdown and the like. The Insurer shall reimburse all valid expenses such as hotel accommodation (for a minimum of 12 hours delay) and restaurant meals (for a minimum of 6 hours of delay), reasonably incurred as a result of such delay, up to the maximum limit as specified in the Schedule.

Public transport  shall mean vehicles such as buses, trains, subways, and other forms of transportation that charge set fares, run on fixed routes, and are available to the public.

Flight Diversion
If the carrier contracted were diverted because of a technical failure, meteorological problems or Acts of Nature, the Insurer will compensate the Insured up to a limit of the plan, subject to presentation of the relevant original copies of the invoices, to defray the prime necessity expenses (i.e., necessary clothing and toiletries or those that are indispensable while the Policyholder is waiting to leave).

The  Insurer  will also  reimburse the Insured’s reasonable additional expenses (up to the limit of the plan) incurred for the use of alternative scheduled public transport services to enable the Policyholder to arrive at the planned destination on time in the event that the Policyholder’s scheduled flights are rerouted due to the above named unforeseen circumstances outside the Policyholder‘s control.


Flight diversion as a result of a strike called by employees of or services companies subcontracted by the Airline and/or of the flight departure, port of call or destination airports, is excluded from this guarantee.

Baggage Delay
The  Insurer  will pay  for expenses incurred by the Insured for the purchase of articles such as clothing, personal effects and other necessities as a result of the checked-in baggage accompanying the insured being delayed, misdirected or temporarily misplaced by the carrier for more than twelve (12) hours. The maximum amount payable for each article shall not exceed Php 2,500.00 and no compensation will be payable under this section should the same event be covered under Loss of Baggage / Damage to Luggage.


Inconvenience Cash Assistance for Baggage Delay (Not Receipted)
This benefit shall extend to cover for the inconvenience brought to the Insured for the baggage delay and covers purchases not receipted. The benefit  is limited to the amounts indicated on the schedule. In no event shall the total amount payable under this benefit exceed 100% of the limit stated for Baggage Delay as indicated on the schedule.

The Insured can be compensated only once per covered trip for either Baggage Delay or Inconvenience Cash Assistance for Baggage Delay.

The delay must be certified by an official baggage irregularity report duly issued by the commercial passenger aircraft for both Baggage Delay and Inconvenience Cash Assistance for Baggage Delay.

Benefits under Trip Cancellation, Trip Curtailment, Delayed Departure and Flight Diversion, Baggage Delay and Inconvenience cash assistance will only be applicable for trips made using common carriers that ply regularly established routes. Benefits will not be applicable for chartered or privately hired aircrafts, vehicles, and other such carriers.

Loss of and/or Damage to Baggage
The  Insurer  will reimburse the insured up to  the limit stated in the policy  against loss  of or damage to  accompanied personal  luggage, clothing or personal  effects of the Insured Person  or for which the Insured Person   is responsible, occurring during  the Period of Insurance.
The Insurer will pay subject to the limits as specified subject to the following conditions:
• No one article or pair/set or articles shall secede Php 2,500 up to the limit of the policy schedule
• In respect of articles in pair or set, the Insurer shall only be liable for the value of that part which have been lost or damaged.
• The Insurer may make payment in cash or may reinstate or repair the  articles  loss or damaged,  subject to reasonable  allowance for depreciation.
• The Insured must take reasonable steps to safeguard their baggage from loss or damage.
•  Any  losses  arising from  theft or robbery  must be reported to the police within 24 hours at the place of theft or robbery.

Specific Exclusions for Loss of and/or Damage to Baggage:
Loss or damage to crockery, china, glass, antiques, artifacts, paintings, works of artmusical instruments, skis, contact or corneal lenses, manuscripts or documents of  any kind and description, jewelries, medals, coins, securities, computers including software and accessoriesbusiness goods or samples, data recorded or tapes or discs.
Loss or damage to wear and tear, gradual deterioration, insect, vermin, inherent vice, mechanical or electrical breakdown or derangement, any  process of cleaning restoration, or renovating.
Loss or damage due to confiscation, nationalization, requisition   or destruction by any government, public, municipal or local authority.
Loss to baggage sent in advance, mailed or shipped separately, left unattended in any public place or as a result of  the Insured  failing to take  necessary precautions  to safeguard his property.
Loss  of cash,  currency notes,  stamps, bonds, negotiable instruments, deeds, securities of any kind, cheques, postal or money orders and travel documents.
In the event that the baggage is recovered, the Insured, if already paid, is under obligation to return the compensation received for the loss in accordance with the Policy.

Loss of Travel Documents
The  Insurer  will reimburse  expenses, for the transportation and communication expenses necessary in getting a replacement of lost passport and travel tickets including the cost of such replacement, up to the maximum limit stated in the schedule.
Provided such loss must be reported to the Police within twenty four (24) hours of the discovery and must be due to robbery, burglary, theft or natural disasters during the travel period.

Emergency Medical Evacuation & Repatriation
The  Insurer  will reimburse  the insured up to  the limit stated in the policy   for each Insured Person for  the expenses incurred for transferring  the injured Insured to a properly equipped  medical institution or to repatriate the mortal remains back to the airport of origin  in the Philippines, upon the written advise of the registered medical practitioner treating the insured due to death or disablement. This benefit shall not be applicable for one way travel.

Hijack
Hijacking – Any seizure or exercise of control by force or violence or threat of force or violence and with wrongful intent, of an aircraft.

The Insurer will provide a daily allowance  for a maximum of five (5) days for each full day for the delay or interruption of the journey in excess  of a waiting period of twelve (12) hours which prevent the Policyholder from reaching the scheduled destination of the aircraft on which he or she is a passenger as a result of its hijack.

The Policyholder must obtain written confirmation from the carriers or their agents stating how long the hijack lasted before a claim is considered under this section.

Policy Conditions:
Warranted individual named insured shall not be less than 1
year old and over 65 years of age.
Period  of coverage  for annual plan  is for an unlimited number of trips per year, provided each trip does not exceed ninety (90) consecutive days per trip.
Benefits for Trip Cancellation and Delayed Departure shall
not apply for policies requested/issued less than forty eight
(48) hours from the scheduled trip,
Maximum liability of the insurer shall not exceed the limit of liability for Accidental Death and Disablement benefit.
Claims forms and written proof of loss shall be furnished to the Insurance Company within thirty (30) days from the date of such loss. Submission of all relevant documents must be within sixty (60) days from expiry of the Travel Policy. The company reserves the right to require additional documents as it may consider necessary to support the claim.

Warranties and Clauses:

Acts of Nature Clause
This policy extends cover for claims arising directly or indirectly due to typhoon and flood, earthquake, volcanic eruption and tidal wave.

Direct,  sudden and  irresistible action  of natural disaster such  as tsunami, wildfire, tornado and other natural catastrophe are excluded under this policy.

Motorcycling Risk endorsement
This policy extends cover against Death and/or Disablement while the
named  insured  is riding  or operating  any motorized two-wheeled vehicle EXCEPT while such vehicle is being used for any race, speed test, or exhibition or when the Insured is under the influence of liquor, narcotics or prohibited drugs.

Terrorism Exclusion clause
1. Notwithstanding any provision to the contrary in this Policy or in any endorsement  thereto the Company shall not be liable for any loss, damage, cost, expense or  consequential loss of whatsoever nature directly or indirectly caused by, contributed to by, resulting from, or arising out of or in connection with
1.1.  any act  of terrorism  regardless of any  other cause or event contributing concurrently or in any other sequence to the loss.
1.2.  any action  in controlling, preventing,  suppressing, retaliating against or responding to any such act of terrorism.
2. For the purpose of this endorsement, an act of terrorism includes any act, preparation or threat of action of any person or group(s) of persons whether acting alone or on behalf of or in connection with any organization(s)  or government(s) de jure or de facto committed for political, religious, ideological, or similar purposes including the intention to influence any government de jure or de facto of any nation or any political division thereof and/or to intimidate the public or any section of the public of any nation and which
2.1. involves violence against one or more persons: or
2.2. involves damage to property: or
2.3. endangers life other than that of the person committing the
action, or
2.4. creates a risk to the health or safety of the public or a section of the public; or
2.5. is designed to interfere with or disrupt an electronic system
3. In any action, suit or other proceedings where the Company alleges
that by reason of the provisions of this condition any loss or damage is not covered by this insurance the burden of proving that such loss or damage is covered shall be upon the Insured.

PA Exclusion list Clause
1. Notwithstanding any provision to the contrary in this Policy or in any endorsement  thereto the Company shall not be liable for any loss, damage, cost, expense or  consequential loss of whatsoever nature directly or indirectly caused by, contributed to by, resulting from, or arising out of or in connection with:
a. Active war risks
b. Kidnap & ransom written as such
c. Dangerous sport activities   such as hang gliding   or para-sailing, parachuting,  rock climbing or mountaineering,  scuba diving, wrestling, boxing, acrobatics  or similar kind of body- contact sports, skiing or other forms of winter sports, hunting, horse riding or any kind of motor race driving
d. Test pilots and test drivers
e. Naval, Military, Air Force or Police Services or Operations
f. Professional divers when participating in diving g. Professional sports teams
h. Stevedores and miners
i. Ship’s crew except Marina Fleet
j. Aircraft pilots and crews in respect of flying risks
k. Automatic passenger liability covers granted to airline operators or ticket agencies in respect of flying risks
l. Air travel except as fare-paying passenger on a recognized airline operating on regular scheduled air routes and air travel by any charter aircraft duly licensed as a recognized air carrier and flown by   professional crews between properties established and maintained airports
m. Personal accident benefits under motor policies n. Personal accident benefits under life policies
o. Long term disability and/or salary continuance business
p.  Insurance  sold through  travel card, credit  card or charge card
organizations and/or automatic vending machines.

2. In any action, suit or other proceedings where the Company alleges that by reason of the provisions of this condition any loss or damage is not covered by this insurance the burden of proving that such loss or damage is covered shall be upon the Insured.

General Exclusions
1. Those caused directly or indirectly by the bad faith of the Insured, by  his/her participation in criminal acts, or as a result of his/her fraudulent, seriously negligent or reckless actions.  The consequences of the actions of the Insured in a state of derangement or under psychiatric treatment at not covered either.
2.  War,  invasion,  act of foreign  enemy, hostilities  (whether war be declared or not).   Civil war, mutiny, riot, strike and civil commotion, rebellion, revolution, insurrection or military or usurped power; or any war like operations;
3. Death or disablement occurring whilst the Insured is traveling in an aircraft  other than one licensed for public passenger service and operated by a  regular Airline on a published schedule flight over a regular air route between  two definitely established airports and in which the Insured is traveling as ticket-holding passenger.
4. Events arising from terrorism, mutiny or crowd disturbances.
5. Engaging in military duty;
6. Illegal acts or violations of the law.
7. Those caused when the Insured takes part in bets, challenges, or
brawls, save in the case of legitimate defense or necessity.
8.  Hazardous  sports e.g  scuba diving  and other offshore  activities,
trekking/climbing  or mountaineering,  mountain biking, off  road biking, parachuting,   hang-gliding, professional sports   with the exception of basketball, or racing other than on foot, participating in any  dangerous sports and contact sports such taekwondo, boxing, muay thai and alike.
9. Activities engaged in any duty directly or indirectly pertaining to the following occupations: Aviator, steward/ess, individual connected with the   military and police, missionaries, miners and underground workers, individual involved in the manufacturing processing of nuclear materials and explosives, individual with constant contact with hazardous  chemicals, individuals connected with politics, detective, bodyguards, bullfighters, divers, equestrians and jockeys, firemen, fishermen, fishing crew and any offshore activities/trainings, logging workers, circus workers, stuntmen, quarry workers, loggers, sawmill workers, racers, sailors, and window cleaners of a high rise buildings
10. Intentionally self-inflicted injuries, suicide or any attempt thereat,
while sane or insane;
11.  Pre-existing  conditions. Pre-existing  conditions are illnesses or injury for which the person has been under the care of a physician and has  received medical care or advice or a condition for which a reasonable person should have sought treatment.
12. Alcoholism or under the influence of alcohol, drug addiction;
13. Engaging in aviation other than as a fare paying passenger;
14. Congenital anomalies and conditions;
15. Pregnancy, childbirth and miscarriage;
16. Hospital confinement for:
a. Rest cures
b. Periodic check ups
c. Cosmetic or plastic surgery
d. Any dental work, dental treatment or eye examination except as result of bodily injury
e. Mental or nervous disorders
17. Rehabilitation treatments.
18.  Prostheses,  orthopedic material  or orhesis and osteosynthesis material, as well as spectacles.
19. HIV, AIDS, sexually transmitted and venereal diseases
20. Insect / mosquito bites.
21. Policy will not cover any sickness contracted or injury sustained by
an insured before the effective date of coverage unless the insured has been covered under the policy for 12 months.

Compensation shall be payable only when entire amount of the claim shall have been ascertained and proved to the satisfaction of the company.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
The Insurance Commissioner, with offices in Manila, Cebu and Davao is  the Government official in-charge of the faithful execution and enforcement of all laws relating to insurance and has supervision over insurance companies.  He is ready at all times to render assistance in settling any controversy between an insurance company and a policy- holder relating to insurance matters.

  2. Proof of occurrence of covered incident such as police report, fire fighter’s report, investigation/verification report, etc. (Document must include date of accident, type of damage in case of fire loss)

  3. Proof of relationship between Insured Person and the immediate family member.

  4. Certification/Affidavit stating the reason for the trip cancellation — same as incident report

  1. Original copy of invoice and receipts for proof of advance Payment made for transportation and accommodation expenses issued by the agency or directly by the wholesaler (Airline & Hotel) and a copy of the travel voucher issued by the agency.

  2. Any satisfactory legal document proving trip Cancellation/trip termination with the non-refundable Portion specified (@.9. travel agency’s certification, letter from the airline to the travel agency or client stating that the carrier can’t refund the airfare, statement from the hotel or documentation regarding non-refundable policies when reservation was made and paid)

The guarantee will only be valid if the travel insurance was bought at the time of booking of the trip or at least three (3) days prior to Insured’s departure date provided that Insured has no knowledge of any unforeseeable circumstances that will possibly lead to cancellation of the trip

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

*Cashless Basis

  • Advice of Loss should be made within 30 days from the Date of the incident, otherwise no claim shall be entertained,

  • Submission of all relevant documents must be with 30 days from expiry of the Travel Policy. Failure of the claimant to submit necessary documents within the given Period shall be deemed abandonment of the claim.

  • All documents to be submitted shall be in English.

The Company reserves the right to require additional documents as it may consider necessary to support the claim.
